What is your faith background? Ben was raised and confirmed at North Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids, MN.  Katrina was baptized, confirmed and raised at St. Philip the Deacon.

What is your professional background and experience? Ben works as a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) with an independent broker dealer helping individuals achieve their financial goals. He is an active member of the Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce. After working in the real estate business for 8 years, Katrina pursued a spiritual calling to become a Registered Nurse. She now works as an RN in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) caring for sick and premature infants.

How are you involved at St. Philip the Deacon? We both volunteer as ushers and serve communion. Ben is an active member of the Deacon Duffers and Young Men’s Group, Phil’s Guys. We are excited to become more active in the church and community.

What is something that you love about St. Philip the Deacon? We love the sense of community SPD offers as well as the family-focused atmosphere. We very much appreciate the well organized youth programs and look forward to raising a second-generation family in the St. Philip the Deacon congregation.

Have you ever been surprised by God? If so, how? I am blessed to see miracles occur every day in my work as a NICU nurse.  I am surprised by the power of faith and prayer and how they can positively affect the outcome of sick infants and their families.
